We check into our hotel, then go for a joy ride around the Red Rocks and Sycamore Canyon Loop to marvel at the red sandstone. Bell Rock is our favorite, although just about everything is quite majestic. After a short sun shower-storm, we go on a hike up the side of Schuerman Mountain. It's a gorgeous view of Cathedral Rock. The sun is about to set, making the formations illuminate a golden red and orange. It's all breathtaking.
After our hike, we head to Oak Creek Brewery and Grill, voted one of the top places for a burger on a cross-country roadtrip. We do a fun beer tasting in mini-steins (appropriately called the "Seven Dwarfs") and feel our beer-tasting course at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery has really paid off. After, we walk around and stumble upon an outdoor Shakespeare performance in the town square. What a charming town!
