Who knows if it's global warming or what, but the weather sure is acting funky. Each city we pass talks about temperatures this year already breaking previous years' records (yesterday cooled down to a more manageable 104 degrees by the time Tyler and I set off to explore Nashville at 6pm).
But it's more than just the temperature. Local papers in Nashville flash the headline: "Drought grips Nashville area", while we left a still state-of-emergency due to the hurricane-like winds of Southern West Virginia (78 mph). All along I-81, we saw all sorts of machinery and vehicles heading north to West Virginia to help clear all the damage (To Tyler's deep frustration, all talk of machine names are unable to stick to my brain).
It's bound to only get hotter as we head to the great southwest later this week. Boy am I glad we're in an air-conditioned car instead of a motorcycle this year!
